When considering a new location Athens Area Urology had a tight geographic ring with which to work since they needed to be close enough to the hospitals and surgery centers in order to see patients with little disruption to the daily flow at the office. Principal Chris Blackmon helped them review lease options, purchase options, new construction, and renovation. When he found out that the Golden Pantry headquarters was for sale on Golden Way, he immediately investigated the opportunity. While not seeming to be a fit at first blush, upon a deeper dive it became clear this was a great location and perfectly met the needs of the Athens Area Urology group. The fabulous doctors and wonderful office manager at AAU collaborated with E&E Architecture, Grahl Construction, and Classic City Bank creating the plans for redesigning the new location. and the purchase was completed in March 2020! Construction has officially begun and we look forward to seeing the before and after pictures!
Atlas is pleased to announce the addition of Kyle Nelson to the team. Kyle will serve as a commercial real estate specialist focused on Athens GA and the southeast.
In addition to brokerage, Kyle is uniquely positioned to assist clients with development and project management. Prior to Atlas, Kyle was with CB Richard Ellis in the position of US Client Director. In this capacity, Kyle was dedicated to a multinational financial institution where he and his team delivered project management services in the construction and development field. He also has previous experience in multifamily development in Northeast Florida and the West Cost, and he formally ran the Atlanta division of a boutique general contracting business that served the Southeastern United State.
Kyle holds both his undergraduate and post graduate degrees from the University of Georgia as well as his Brokers License and the LEED AP certification. He recently moved back to the Athens area with his wife and two children.
