Andy Sherrill

After retiring from a successful career as a Supervisory Special Agent with the FBI, Andy is excited to bring his leadership and project management experience to Atlas Commercial Real Estate in Athens. With nearly three decades of experience overseeing expansive commercial construction and development projects—including office parks, hospitals, luxury country clubs, and industrial facilities—Andy understands what it takes to turn a vision into a finished product.

He combines his background in construction, site selection and development planning with a hands-on, relationship-driven approach that puts clients first. Andy takes pride in helping businesses and investors find opportunities that align with their goals while ensuring each project is built on trust, communication, and results.

A graduate of Auburn University, Andy is actively involved in the Athens community and is a member of the Atlanta Chapter of Retired FBI Agents. Outside of work, he enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. Andy has been happily married for over 35 years and is the father of two great kids (now two great adults).

 

Kristin Embrey

Kristin Embrey is an accomplished sales professional with experience in both residential real estate and the mortgage industry. She has specialized in areas of client relationship management, contractual compliance, business structure development, and marketing solution strategies. Kristin’s skill set of market knowledge, administrative management and organization, and commitment to growing and maintaining client relationships are the key to her for success as commercial property manager.

Wendy Jackson

Wendy obtained her Realtor license in 2006 and has consistently gravitated towards the creative dimensions of the real estate industry, often favoring them over direct deal-making.

In her current role, she skillfully merges her extensive real estate experience with her creative talents, leading the charge in crafting pioneering marketing materials-from print and digital content to social media and email marketing strategies, along with diverse photography approaches including 3D, drone imagery, and video.

Jim Purcell

After a 25 year career in the banking and finance industry, Jim was licensed and began his real estate journey in 2013. As a native of the Athens area, he has developed valuable business relationships across the country, leveraging those to add value to his clients transactions. His role at Atlas allows him to capitalize on his experience in brokerage, construction, development, site selection and residential investments.

Jim is a graduate of the University of Georgia and also has Executive Education experience in Management and Marketing from the University of Michigan and the University of Colorado respectively. When he is not with his family or working, he is very community-minded and serves on Boards for University of Georgia Football FCA, Downtown Ministries, and Project HOOD in Chicago. His strengths of creativity, reliability and steadiness are evident in both his business and personal endeavors.

Kyle Nelson

With a comprehensive background in management and leadership across various levels, Kyle possesses a deep involvement in every phase of the real estate life cycle. His hands-on experience spans transactions, landlord and tenant representation, acquisitions, dispositions, project and program management, facilities management, and consulting. This breadth of experience equips him with unique insights and strategies that enable seamless integration and service delivery for multi-disciplinary accounts.

A UGA graduate (MBA), Kyle’s portfolio includes prominent clients such as Koch Industries, Silicon Valley Bank, Bimbo Bakeries, and TD Bank, underscoring his extensive expertise. He has directly overseen professional teams of over 50 individuals and managed annual capital spend exceeding $225 million. Whether collaborating with corporate executives or handling localized assignments, Kyle is dedicated to providing a top-notch service experience, irrespective of project size or budget. At Atlas, he contributes a wealth of knowledge and experience, consistently adopting an advisory approach to achieve his clients’ objectives.

Chris Blackmon

With extensive expertise spanning commercial real estate brokerage, portfolio optimization, complex negotiation, financial analysis, and intricate advisory services, Chris brings a wealth of experience to the forefront. Having overseen and managed assets worth billions since gaining his license, he boasts a comprehensive track record both domestically and internationally.

Chris, an Honors Graduate of the University of Georgia with a BA in International Business, has been deeply engaged in diverse sectors including retail, medical, office, multifamily, industrial, troubled assets, site selection, and infrastructure ventures. His active participation on numerous advisory councils and boards across the region underscores his commitment to industry advancement. Notably, he assumed the role of Chairperson at the Athens Downtown Development Authority, is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), and a CCIM.

Matt Thomas

A proud alumni of the University of Georgia, Matt has been in the real estate business since 2000 and holds a broker’s license in numerous states. He has experience in all facets of the real estate cycle, from acquisition to management to disposition. He has represented hundreds of clients in brokerage transactions and consulting assignments, with a focus on investment properties and development transactions. As partner and broker of Atlas Real Estate Advisors, he manages the daily operations and oversees business development. 

Matt has been closely involved with the start-up process of various businesses, forming business strategies, implementing processes, establishing legal/financial/vendor partnerships, hiring and training employees, marketing and more. 

His reputation as a creative problem-solver has proven true throughout his career as he’s increased efficiency and maximized returns for clients.
